Web Hosting Site Help - Thunderbird Setup

This document will describe how to setup your web-hosting-site email account with Mozilla Thunderbird the free email client. You can get thunderbird here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/

  1. Open up Thunderbird, this is usually in Start->All Programs->Mizilla Thunderbird. Ignore (close)any wizards that popup.
  2. Click on the Tools menu followed by account settings.

  3. This will open up the account settings window. In this window click add account.
     
  4.   Select email account and click Next
     
  5. Enter your name (in this case i used john smith) and email address that you got from Web-Hosting-Site, the example here is jsmith@n-dimensional.co.uk and then click Next.
     
  6. From the boxes select IMAP. Set the incoming mail server to mail.n-dimensional.co.uk and the outgoing mail server to mail.n-dimensional.co.uk. Finally press next.
     
  7. Enter the user name (this is the same as your email address) in this case the email address is jsmith@n-dimensional.co.uk so our user name is also jsmith@n-dimensional.co.uk. Finally Click Next
  8. Enter an account name, this can be anything you wish, in this example I just used jsmith@n-dimensional.co.uk, you could simply use 'work'. Click Next.

     
  9. Finally Click Finish.

     
  10. You will now be prompted for your password, enter this and tick the remember box if you wish, you have now completed setup, well done!
